東京大空襲Tokyo Air Raid

佐藤美子写真家は東京都出身ですので、東京大空襲の体験者の話を聞いて育ちました。子供心に聞くのも辛く、今も決して忘れることはありません。人間同様に生きながら焼かれた、荷車を引いていた馬を祀る、江東区の「馬頭観世音」。3月10日はお参りに行き、帰りは近くの「東京大空襲・戦災資料センター」に立ち寄りました。

Approximately 100,000 people were killed in the Great Tokyo Air Raid on March 10, 1945, by　the U.S.Army. Thousands of draft horses were also burned alive as well. After Japan defeated WWⅡ, the horse riders built a stone monument for horses pityingly.
